DETACH
A three day reset to stop him living in your head, so you feel calmer and your life starts feeling like yours again.
Who this is actually for
Whoever it is you cannot stop thinking about.
- An ex, and it is raw.
- An ex, and it has been a year, and you are still not free.
- A situationship that never got a label, so nobody thinks you are allowed to be this wrecked about it.
- Someone who ghosted you and left you holding a conversation that never happened.
- Someone who is still around but will not choose you properly.
I say "he" the whole way through, because that is who most women arrive here about. If yours is a she or a they, swap the word. Every single thing in here still applies to you.
Why it hurts like this
Your body has not caught up with your mind.
You consciously know it is over. You still miss them. Those two things sit in completely different parts of you, and only one of them has had the news.
Your brain came to expect a certain hit of dopamine from them. Its absence is what has you checking, scrolling and rehearsing conversations that are never going to happen. Once you understand the mechanism you stop feeling crazy, and you stop beating yourself up for not being over it yet.
Detachment is peaceful, not bitter. Loving, not cold. You choosing your own peace over waiting for closure.
What happens
Three days.
Where your energy is going, and where you actually want it to go. We get into the difference between hoping and having faith, and it is a bigger difference than it sounds.
The windshield is huge and the mirror is tiny. That is not an accident.
You start seeing the woman you are becoming clearly enough to notice that he does not really fit in that life anyway. That is when detaching stops feeling like giving something up.
The daily ask is the same all three days. Watch the video, then do the fifteen minute meditation before you sleep, and rate how attached you feel out of ten before and after. That is it. No workbook, no homework, nothing to hand in.
The part nobody else gives you
Proof, in your own handwriting.
Twice a day for three days you write down how attached you feel out of ten. Before the meditation, and straight after it. By the end you are not hoping it worked. You are looking at six numbers.
An example. Yours will not be a straight line, and it does not need to be.
The meditation is yours to keep. Long after the three days are over, any time life starts revolving around someone else, you come back to it.
